Emerging and Influential blogs of 2007
Three months ago, fellow blogger Janette Toral came up with a brilliant way to bring out the new joiners of the blogosphere. Her aim was to acknowledge blogs that, although new, are already creating quite a stir among bloggers and readers. The project invited everyone to write about blogs that they feel falls under the classification of “Emerging and Influential”. One would probably instantly think about… Yuga! but the criteria clearly defined that blog entries should be - blogs that only started anytime from August 1, 2006 until present time. Thus Yuga was definitely out (Not less influential though).
I did not jump at the opportunity first partly because I was busy at work and partly because I felt I had to do some thinking before I could decide on who I could say is emerging and influential in terms of blogging to me.
When I did submit my entry, I combined my choices with a selfish plug of my own food blog, Kubiertos… shameful, shameful, and blogs that I frequent daily. These blogs would also be the ones you would find in my google reader. It was a short list and mainly because most of the blogs I love were not new and have been blogging ten times longer than I have been.
Soon, I found a lot of trackbacks and linkbacks to Kubiertos from an awful lot of blogs I havent come across before. Imagine my surprise when week after week, at least one blogger would include Kubiertos as part of their entries to the project. I went all excited as I had not imagined that our blog was being read by so many other bloggers. I finally had to put in a short post to thank all those who voted hoping to show our appreciation.
Because of all those who voted, Kubiertos made it to the Top 10 list of Emerging and Influential Blogs of 2007. Thanks Guys! My husband and I are really honored to be listed amongst truly great bloggers:
