It's a little different than a tampon in that you don't throw anything away, and there is little or no risk of toxic shock syndrome. The Cup is made of silicone, and you just remove it and wash it in the shower. (Promise I'm not a Diva Cup sales person, I just really like things that work and make sense, and I know a couple of people who use the cup and will never go back to pads or tampon again.)

Theron - I went to the site and the Diva cup looks similar to a tampon. Although I doubt they sell that here in the Philippines.

The Diva Cup is a brand of menstrual cup, whose design is best explained by the company that creates it. The Diva Cup is made of hypoallergenic materials, and its use is not only easy on the pocket book, but also very environmentally friendly.

I also recommend a Diva Cup, which is far healthier than tampons, and significantly more hidden than any pad could ever be.

[...] I do not know why I find it difficult to sleep when I am away from home. I have been married for almost three years and the first time that I spent the night away from home was a terrible experience. I remember how big and comfortable the bed was and yet, it could not make up for the empty space beside me. I was not able to sleep that I became too dizzy to concentrate on my meeting the next day.
