My diamond peel experience
Everyone knows I am kikay. One look at me and many will say… Ahh, yes you definitely are. Because I am like that, I take great effort to take care of myself and to try to look good. I am very particular with the clothes, the makeup brands, the shoes, and the skincare I buy for myself. I also make sure that my body gets a good de-stressing by getting a good massage once in a while or visit spa’s to get a quick facial.
But… this is the first time that I have experienced the diamond peel.
Diamond peel is a non-surgical method of encouraging skin renewal. This treatment uses a wand with a disposable diamond tip that propels crystal flow to the skin and also vacuums away the dirt and dead skin cells.
I had mine at the Clarity Aesthetic Center. The attendant first slathered some cream that was cool to the skin all over my face. She then wiped it off after giving my face a quick and light massage. Then she turned the machine on and I just felt this pencil-like thing on my face. Then I felt my flesh being sucked by that pencil bit by bit. It wasn’t painful at all mind you but I felt awkward at first. Since I could not see what was being done to my face, I really couldn’t tell what all the vacuuming was doing to my skin. I doubt that whatever was being removed was visible to the naked eye. After about 30 minutes, it was over. She showed me the “dirt” that was removed from my face and I saw a very small wad of cotton that was black with the dirt she said came from my face. Oooowwwws – I was tempted to challenge her.
I looked at my face and it was red and raw (or at least that’s how it felt). But my skin felt lighter and somehow cleaner. I was told to ensure I put on sunblock so that my skin does not get sun-damaged.
About three days later, I finally noticed the difference. My skin had always felt thick, and slightly grainy… there was dirt on it all the time regardless how much I scrubbed it clean. Also, there used to be spots on my face that were so dry they were actually peeling. And of course I have the large pores and the white heads and black heads. Now… I cannot keep from touching my face. My skin feels so soft and smooth. My pores have been diminished to oblivion and my nose is free from white heads – as in!
So ok. I am a believer. I guess that’s why many celebrities have such good skin. I am sure many of them go through the same if not similar procedure to take care of their faces, especially since its mostly their faces that sell. Now I can have my own diamond peel session at an affordable price at the Clarity clinic.
I am totally loving my face right now… hehe.
donn – Since DP removes dead skin cells, it does allow for the easier removal of whiteheads and blackheads. But it isnt a permanent solution. You still have to make sure you take care of your face and follow a skin care routine that fits you.
I use a variety of skin care brands but stay with those that I feel work well with me. Lately, I have gone organic and use Leyende and Mario Badescu products. Different products work on different people so you have to find out which will work for you.
Jepoy – I am not really sure but I dont think DP is the first thing you want to do for a burnt face. Try to go to a derma and setup a consult. Good luck!

churva – Not sure how much DP is right now in Clarity but it is more than P1K I’m sure. You dont need medication for DP, you just need a good sunblock.
Clarity has branches in Shangrila, Market Market, SM North and Alabang I think.

i just tried DP at Clarity sa SM-North Edsa kasi may promo daw silang Facial at DP. and i was really disappointed. the technician’s hands were so heavy. Compared sa iba ay napaka tamad nila at halos nagmamadali sa paggawa. She just wiped my face and apply some cream without even telling me about wat she was doing at pagkatapos ay halos nagmamadali rin sa paggawa ng DP procedure. The sad part was that, i was with my frend at pagkatapos ko ay sya naman ang ginawa by the same technician at dahil pangalawa na nga ay almost half the time na rin ang service at effort sa kanya kaya dalawa kaming nalugi sa hard- earned money. NEXT TIME if ur thinking of having this serice done to you, PLEASE NOT at this clinic, sayang ang pera at tym ninyo …

I had my 2nd treatment at facial care centre yesterday, DPL(their diamond peel thing-that’s how they call th treatment) and infrered light thing. Today, the upper left side of my cheek had two blisters and some buns loks like wounds already. Yesterday, there were only burns all over my face. I went to give a comment on their site, but there is, until now, no reply. tsk. I already paid them 27,500 for 5 DPL treatments.

michi – I recommend you get a consult from a derma first before trying this out. Generally you have to treat the pimples first before you get DP treatment.
Maria – 5K for each DP treatment? That’s quite expensive. I hope you hear from them soon. Did you try going back to have them check your burns?

what are the products needed to use after DP aside from sunblock so you can maintain the effects of DP?
sexygurl -I was told that the skin would be sensitive to the sun until 3 days after you have had your DP session. Also pimples are part skincare, part diet, and part genetics. If you already have a routine skincare, try to manage your diet by staying away from foods that promote pimples.
cherryl – Maintenance should be done with proper skincare. If you are not yet familiar with what works well with your skin, I find that the 3-step process (Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer) works. Once you know what your skin is compatible with you can modify, add or enhance your routine.
Hi your blog is interesting—I’ll be having my very 1st diamond peel tomorrow on my derma… yay don’t know what to expect… they also told me it takes for about 30 mins. session.
Question… what if you made this 1st session and then… is it REQUIRED to do it again? Baka kasi after doing the session pag di mo inulit makakaroon ng bad effect sa skin, nahiya ako itanong dun sa Derma ko haha if it’ll be like an “once-a-month” regimen na sya once you started… hay—you have to still consider kasi yung budget eh.
cinnamongirl – Of course its best to get regular DP sessions. However, I was told by the derma that you should do that to achieve the best results. I dont think anything bad will happen if you dont go back. If anything bad will happen, you will know that immediately after your session I would think.

Whoa, got my session—after some days I like the treatment, you can see some smoothing result and feel, though of course no drastic result—uhm my derma suggest for a 6 more session *gulp* am not sure if my budget fits, anyhow… she told me as well the next session should not exceed for about a month, ideal will be after 2 weeks (sigh) so yeah goodluck! XD

I do really like your site. Please help me. I have these pimple marks in my nose and it looks so bad.
May umbok umbok na skin sa nose ko which is result of pimples. It’s not pimples but after effects of pimples. What could I do to or what services I could take for the skin in my nose to be even and mawala na ung mga umbok umbok?
May lahi rin kac kaming tagyawatin coming from my dad. I have tried Eskinol Dermaclear, Ponds and maxi peel and is drinking ascorbic acid pero i am still having pimples. hi its me again! i am 19 years old nga pla. i have another problem. when i started using maxi peel
my skin never did peel but it just got red. i have fair white facial skin dati but i think na damage sia ng maxi peel. Now it was darker than its original color. It’s even darker than the color of my skin in my arms and body. What can i do para magpntay ung color ng face ko from body ko and bumalik ung fairness ng facial skin ko? I have been using whitening creams but i do think, it was not working. Help me please?
I got DP for the 2nd time last Sat. (oct 24,09.) the 1st one was last oct. 12. The facialist required me to go there weekly for 3 times in one month and once a month on the succeeding treatments. i dont go out of the house so i dont use sunblock. my face was peeilng for the 2nd time now since the first treatment but my stubborn acne scar that i want to get rid off still remains. plus the slight peeling makes my skin itch.. i had power peel b4 and had noticed the latter to be effective. .. should i still go on w/ the dp sessions?

edelina – I think it depends on how deep your scars are. If they are too deep, then maybe laser is the answer instead of DP? Check with your derma. A consult is definitely cheaper than 1 DP session.
cinnamon girl – Yes, beauty has its price, and most of the time, the price is extremely high. Sigh.
kimmy – As I mentioned, it depends on how deep your scars are. But I suggest you not easily believe something as astounding as removing all scars. DP (in time) can help smoothen your skin but it isnt a miracle. Otherwise, everyone will be getting it.
pola – Go to a derma and get yourself checked. I personally am wary of solutions and creams unless I am very comfortable with them. Since I know my skin very well, I know what works. Before you try anything else, go to a derma so they can give you the best treatment for your problem.
fayee – Its been a long time since I heard someone say they dont need sunblock. You see you dont have to be out under the sun to need to wear sunblock. Even when you get under a roof or an umbrella you are at risk of burning your skin. Always always wear sunblock.
As for the treatment, that would depend on your needs and on how your skin reacts to the treatments. If you feel the power peel works better for you, then go for it!
hi po thankz po talaga sa reply..actually hindi naman po talaga deep yung mga scars ko sa face.its an old scar..maliliit lang xa,my mom says i got it daw when i was young,u know silly kid fights with my cousins,they pinched it daw.. den ask ko lang po if may side effects po ba yung DP after the session?i mean nag pepeel po ba ung skin?
kimmy – The after effects depends on your skin type. I personally did not encounter peeling but my skin became so red and raw for a couple of days.
if deep scar, try first he glycolic peel then after that its diamond pell.i coul really recommend a very good derma, she does the diamond peel before i think for 1k.she is a very good derma,if you hVE PROBLEM SKIN I CAN RECOMMEND HER TO YOU.SHE IS DRA AILEEN S REYES.HER CLINIC IS IN MONUMENTO CALOOCAN.I CAN GIVE YOU HER NUMER

hi.. po ulit,ask ko lang po if needed ba talaga yung mga products na enooffer nila after the session like yung toner,night cream,soap,facial wash ..etc…?ako po i used garnier facial wash and Ponds pra sa cream..

is there a follow up session required? I got a text from healthway kase (I’m a cardholder) saying I have a free DP from clarity, valid till end of nov since I’m a nov bday celebrant. I’m thinking it couldn’t free for nothing… baka free nga pero may kung ano anong iaalok after… you know what I mean? hehe. Should I get this one?

I just got it, a while ago (30th!!! hahaha! buti walang tao! I’m such a crammer), and yeah i agree it’s nice. i lost all pores and really small white heads on my nose! oh, and they didn’t mention any “required” services after, it really is a treat! Though I got mine because “i’m a nov celebrant”, not because of BPI. must be because of my constant visits sa ortho and physical therapy sa healthway! Anyway… just wna share to everyone: it’s just worth 500 if you avail it between 8am-11am. In ATC at least, ewan ko lang sa ibang branch. a lot cheaper than the regular price!!!
