I love PLDT!!!

** note: started writing post on 8/18 and finished 8/19

We have been without PLDT connection for three days now. No landline connection. No DSL connection. Looking forward to blogging mania during the long weekend (because of my long backlog), I woke up on Saturday morning to a dead line. What’s up? I picked up the handset to sort of reset the DSL connection but nothing happened. This myth usually worked but not since Saturday.

Frustrated I got my mobile and tried to call the PLDT hotline - 171. Too bad I was a Globe Handyphone subscriber so I could not connect to their hotline. I asked yaya to go to the neighbor’s and use their phone to call PLDT. No luck. Their line was dead as well. What the?!@?!

I discovered that the problem affected our whole neighborhood. Arrrgh! To top it off, there is NO way to call PLDT hotline to get your landline fixed unless you happen to be subscribed to Smart. Now how smart is THAT?!? Hello! If my landline was broken and I needed to call the provided to get it fixed shouldn’t they provide their customers a way to get in touch with them? Apparently, this very simple concept is alien to the company.

And can I just way that the customer reps that PLDT employs do not know what they are doing? The first person I talked to practically cut me off mid-sentence and would not let me explain my complaint. She just wanted to get my info and be done with it. I got the feeling she had memorized her lines… "I apologize Ma’m".. and was scared to forget it so she repeated it every 3 seconds. That meant she had to cut me off while I was speaking. Rude indeed!

I just wish that majority were not dependent on PLDT (another option is Globe Broadband) and that there exists other companies that would provide impeccable broadband service. Well in a perfect world maybe.

I can’t help but wonder amidst all the complaints that PLDT is getting, what the company is actually doing to address at least those concerns that are most important to their customers. I wonder if anyone is really listening?
