The truth about Marie Claire Philippines

marie claire2

There have been quite a bit of buzz lately about the supposed closing of Marie Claire Philippines (including Seventeen and T3). Aside from those bits that I have read online, I have not read anything on the Summit Media website or on the Female Network. I even wrote the customer service department of Summit to ask them about it but I have not yet gotten a response. I am sure they have millions of emails so while waiting for my email to get read and responded to, can anyone officially confirm that this is true? Anyone from Summit Media or Marie Claire?

The picture below confirms how much of a fan I am of this glossy. And those are just the back issues. There are more of that scattered in my room and around the house. Are you like me?

    MC is nice pa naman..

But I really think its Myrza whos a great editor.. magaling siya.. :)

I fell out of love with cosmo when she transferred.. i hope they give her another glossy to manage!!

Yes unfortunately it’s true. The April issue will be MC’s last issue.

It’s really a pity because the staff at Marie Claire were excellent, and it was a magazine of great substance for the Filipina woman. I dont know of any other Philippine magazine that can fill the same niche.

Purnima Anand – Thats soo sad and I agree that I don’t think any other Philippine magazine for women can provide the same substance or content that MC provides.

shallow – They still have Cosmo so I guess that’s something. But I will definitely miss MC!

This is soooo sad. nevertheless, i beg to differ on the opinion that there’s no other fil magazine that cater to smart pinays. i personally like rogue (although its geared for men) with its lineup of the biggest contributors in phil. literary world and Sense and Style magazine, which is fashion-fashion but very smart and in depth. :)
