Nowadays, there are more and more women that appear to be comfortable with getting a bikini wax, maybe even going brazilian. I think this was driven by the confidence that pinays already have with wearing bikinis in public. I am not old but I do recall a time where women do wear bathing suits to the beach or to the pools but often always have a wrap, a t-shirt or even shorts! I can still hear my American-citizen tita scolding me and my sisters when we did not want to take off our shirts to reveal our gorgeous new bathing suits (and that was the time when I did not have the flab that I do now – if only I knew better).

I myself only appreciated shaving or waxing when I bought my very first bikini. How embarrassing would it be to have unruly hair sticking out?!?! I started my shaving routine ever since that day. But better than shaving is waxing. There are already a lot of establishments that offer waxing services. These places include your neighborhood salon, those that offer nail and spa treatments, and there is also one that offer just particularly waxing services. Many are hesitant because of the stories of pain and torture but really for people who tweeze their eyebrows, shave their legs, and deliver babies by pushing them out of the vagina, waxing should be a cinch.

Why I feel all women should get waxed:

• Waxing will make the bikini area smooth and silky for days. Even the closest shave you do leaves a stubble and will make the area itch in a day. This way – maintenance is decreased to a weekly or bi-monthly routine.
• Feel your confidence increase as the hair disappears. Besides removing all the chaos (instead of just trimming it down), you will actually feel cleaner, neater, more free.
• Increase your desire to show off your body. Wear any kind of bathing suit or bikini you want. Your smooth bikini area will look great in anything!
• Improve your erotic life… for yourself and for your partner – take my word for it! Wink!
