Post-Awards Night Party
After all the Blog Awards fanfare… it was time to head out to the after-party. A bunch of Philippine bloggers including Abe, Jayvee - organizers of the Blog Awards, Sasha, Sorsi, Migs, Jun, Marrku, Jomar, Poell, AJ, Pierre, L.A, Darwin, Jeff and of course the winner of the best personal blog category - the temptress Shari of Misteryosa.COM trooped over to the Hawaiian Hula Restaurant over at Shangrila Plaza Mall to partake of food and an open bar.
The open bar was a great idea and it more than made up for the teenee weenee assortment of food served. That does not say though that the food was not good, as in fact it was great. I love the pinoy nachos - which tasted like fried wanton wrapper sprinkled with hoisin sauce. The spicy seafood pasta was good too and although the restaurant is famous for barbecue, it was a challenge trying to eat the pork barbecue they served using plastic utensils.
What lacked in good food, was made up by the abundance in interesting conversation. I was fortunately seated with a group of bloggers who engaged in various engaging topics that went from politics, to education, to sex, to Raul Gonzales, to families, to sex again, and Shari, to loving Kris Aquino, and stealing iPods, and bloggers, blogging events, to cameras, and girls, to young bloggers and old bloggers, kamasutra, OhMiBod vibrators, to Fr. Cuyos‘ blogger prayer - whose paper version my husband got from the man himself. There was also talk of religion, and Catholicism, and serious questions on differing faith, and a lot of other brain-twister out-of-the-blue, meant-to-shock you questions that made us wonder how much iced tea Jomar really downed.
Jeff was waiting for his 5 minutes (it turned into 30 minutes!) to pass before going home, when the discussions jumped to blog to profit, pay per post, monetizing your blog, adsense, textlink ads, to the age of Darwin and whether he was really 17 or 18, to Tim Yap and his statement about today’s generation of rich kids and their guiltless partying, and about his constant ready-to-pose face that reminds me of bryanboy- although bryanboy does it better, and his similarity to Tessia Prieto-Valdes in terms of flamboyance.
I was having so much fun that I practically agreed to watch Sassygirl and Windstruck , vowed to read Perfumed Garden and Kamasutra, and promised to research my site’s page rank. All in all it was indeed one hell of a night. My husband and I stood up to go as the restaurant turned out a couple of its lights. The lateness of the hours surprised us as we rarely went out and stayed out that long before. But it was worth it.
I had enjoyed every single time I had reading their blogs, it is no surprise that I would equally enjoy their company.
Cheers to the Philippine Blogging Community!!
