Gaining back by melting fat

200523734-001.jpgIts been a rough couple of months. With all the work and pressures I have had to deal with at work and at home, I have turned to my old reliable friend for comfort. FOOD! And considering I have a food blog, it isnt hard to tell how much I love eating. And because I chose to turn to food to alleviate my conflicts, it isnt surprising that some things would stick their claws at me. Things like pounds and weight.

I should have watched out for the signs the first time that Shari mentioned how I was getting flabby at the sides at the iBlog 3 event and the next time at the Blogger’s SEB. If the fat was starting to show then, I can imagine how it must show now. 200514365-001.jpg

While I was having my hair cut the other day, I suddenly had a realization. I realized that I will forever be locked in this depressive state if I did not get my butt out and started taking action I will forever have a problem with my weight.

So here I am taking action.

Small steps. That was what I have always been told. And those are the steps that I need to take if I am bent on losing the weight and keeping it off.

My plan for June is as follows:

  • Drink diet soda only on weekends. Other times, drink water. Warm icky water
  • Cut rice intake by half during dinner time at all times (including weekends).
  • Park car at the far end of the parking lot so that a lot of walking is required to get to the office.
  • Eat at McDonalds once a week only
  • Do not partake of the food when staff birthdays are celebrated at the office (when there is more than one celebration a month
  • Have hubby do the grocery shopping so buying of junk food is avoided.
  • Quite a sound plan I must say… although ChrisH would probably 100% disagree. But I am optimistic.

Small steps… and soon I will be this:

Hi Apples! Had Chris on my blogroll and blog hopped from there to yours. Glad to meet the other half of the H family!

Wishing you good luck on your fat-melting goal. I am into yoga and found it very effective in keeping fit and losing the fat. A friend of mine just started last October and with regular yoga, she lost 8 lbs and 3 inches. Is that a wow or what!

      - Hi! Thanks for dropping by! Oh I really wish I get to be successful in this weight loss thing. I havent had too much trouble losing weight before. But I guess after two kids and 30-something birthdays (and of course a lot of depressive eating), its time to acknowledge that there’s more work to be done. I only also wish that I had spare time to do yoga, or even go back to playing badminton regularly. However, any free time I have right now I spend sleeping or taking care of the kids/house. Hay rant rant rant! Sorry!! :)

Never too late to go back to a sport/activity you love!

I have 4 kids and much older than you. And so far, am also an SAHM running here and there taking care of the school schedules and weekend activities of these 4 teen-agers. My weekends are not my own!!! That’s why I take yoga — to keep me fit — and sane! hehehe…

      :-)
