David Cook will Always be my Baby
A before and after look at David Cook.
American Idol has come out with another hunk of a musician in the form of David Cook. His initial performances did not really have an impact on me because he looked like another awkward rocker on the show. But each performance has brought him closer to becoming the next Idol. Despite the controversy of the arrangements of his performance, I would like to have him come out on top.
One of his best performances that instantly turned into a hit is his rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Always be my Baby”. You can even hear this performance played over radio stations. I have included a video of this here so that we (my readers and I) can fall in love with him at the same time.

I like David Cook too. I think he deserves to win more than David Archuleta because he’s more confident and versatile. Go Cook!
Em - Exactly! And although Archuleta looks adorable too, I think David has more personality and oomph that American Idol is looking for.
David Cook can sing anything. He’s so versatile and has that aura of confidence in him. I hope he wins. I’m rooting for him! I love his rendition of Mariah Carey’s song, but Billie Jean is a knockout!
I must admit that in the beginning of the season, I didn’t like him at all. But he’s proven his talent and versatility. He can really hold his own on and off the stage (from the clips anyway).
rhodora - I really really hope he wins too! Many say its between Cook and Anchuleta but if that will be the case, then Cook is a sure winner.
Joy - I felt the same way. He kind of looked odd to me at that time…. not very American Idol at all. That’s why I included a pic of him before and after (sort of). So that I can show how far he has gone.
I liked this performance as well. He has a really nice voice and a sweet personality to go along with it. He’s my favorite to win!

Sonya - He indeed has such contrasting personalities. He sounds so strong when singing and belting out his rock songs but totally adorable and sweet when just plainly speaking or being interviewed.

LOL! I did not really notice it, but since you mentioned … yea … there’s a certain angle that will remind of him =) Honestly, I did not notice David Cook at first, I notice that he is doing very good compared to others but not standing out very well … not until that performance. He melted me away. I was amazed by that rendition. I know it will be between the two Davids at the end, and I’m not sure who I like better.
Hi Gette!! I will tell you its the way he smiles that reminds me of aj. He looks like a kid with a big grin. So different when he is actually singing.
I think it’s going to be a David-David finale. And, of course, I’m hoping that David Cook will win. He’s better than Archuleta primarily because he can be more creative. Sometimes, when I listen to Archuleta’s songs, they already sound alike. With David Cook, there’s more chance of listening to a unique take on something old or maybe something brand new altogether. And I love his smile. Also, he’s crazy for crossword puzzles!
Dra Tess - Considering the top 3 are David C, David A, and Syesha - I feel its David-David too. Syesha just isnt very consistent. I think she has the voice factor but I dont think she has the personality to go with it. And we all know its not all about the voice.
i want to have a copy “all i really need is you” by david cook, studio recorded. that was the song that made me into a believer.
