I’m glad I’m not the only kikay

Last month at Fully Booked Powerplant - this notebook planner caught my eye.

I am very much into planners (even if I carry a PDA already) as nothing really beats having something to jot things on (especially appointments) but always settle for those executive types that they sell in bookstores. These boring planners serve a good purpose but they do not encourage me to write in it (much like a fine point pen would - aww you know what I mean).

Anyway - I was ecstatic to see in one tv show about Michelle Simone’s planners. It was called “Rolling of Days” planner and it came in a variety of candy colors (like pink!, blue and green). I went to surf the net trying to find out where I can buy these delightful planners and what came up was tons of links to blogs, websites talking about paper planners like Michelle Simone’s, Belle De Jour, Jordi Labanda and other Miguelrius notebooks.

It seems I am not the only one who craves for this product as I - like all other kikay girls like me - screech at the thought of owning one. If you think the 2007 Starbucks planner is great - then you would love these paper planners. No need to set aside a huge chunk of your budget to be able to buy coffee and complete the stickers you need to avail of the free planner. All you need is about P500 - P1000 and viola - you’re an IT girl.

This one goes right into my wishlist (New Year’s wishlist…hint hint!)

See pictures below of these candy planners:

Headline: Author suffers heart shock from stupid driver

My husband and I almost got into an accident on our way to the grocery today.

We were almost at the intersection of ultra and san antonio village when it happened. Those going out to Shaw (us) and those turning left towards Valle Verde Country Club had a green light. The FX in front of us started to turn left (which is normal in a country where all lanes apparently go left and none-straight). We should have been ok as we were quite a distance away from his rear end. However, the stupid driver of a silver (or gray?) altis that was on the leftmost lane suddenly decided to go straight (when he was already in the middle of the road). This caused the left-turning FX to suddenly stop and us to swerve right… barely missing the FX. Our car stalled from the effect of the near-collision.

I did not scream. I sort of squeaked. That was how scared I was. My heart was pounding all the way to our destination and that made me space out. Once I got over it, and saw the altis again, I got so furious I really wished I could afford to go after him and hit his car again and again and again. Unfortunately, we only own a 1.3 toyota - that would probably eat dust in the event of a car chase. Ive been driving for almost 10 years and I only got into an accident once - and that was last year. A truck driver got too close during traffic and hit my trunk and tail lights goodbye. My driving record speaks for itself.

That is why I really really hate stupid drivers and I most especially hate reckless drivers. Here in Manila - no matter how careful or skillful you drive… some stupid driver will probably meet up with you at least once in your life.

GRRRRR……

Kiss kiss bang bang

1498.jpg

I read somewhere that keeping one’s relationship in constant repair is the way to keep it strong. My husband and I had a disagreement the other night that resulted in a 2 night silence. By the morning of the 3rd day, I was at wits end and I guess so was he because as soon as apologies were uttered and hugs were exchanged… well lets just say that what happened next would put the phrase Kiss and make up to shame. It felt like college and hooking up with a hunk of a guy you just met at a bar. It was suddenly all lips, sucks, tongues, licks, and then kiss kiss bang bang. Whew! If making up would always be this awesome maybe we ought to fight a lot more (kidding!).

Twenty questions

…. well not exactly…..

Before going to my website, I browsed through pinoyblog.com and came upon this post from Jam. It was the title that caught my eye. Its interesting to see how your own thoughts can also be someone else’s… or how your questions seem to be the same ones you would hear from a neighbor, a colleague or a friend. I will not attempt to answer…rather I would but will keep the answers to myself (don’t be nosy!). I have picked out and posted the questions that I feel are important and should be (should have) been answered before marriage.

  • Do we have a clear idea of each other’s financial obligations and goals, and do our ideas about spending and saving mesh?
  • Do we truly listen to each other and fairly consider one another’s ideas and complaints?
  • Have we reached a clear understanding of each other’s spiritual beliefs and needs, and have we discussed when and how our children will be exposed to religious/moral education?
  • Do we value and respect each other’s parents, and is either of us concerned about whether the parents will interfere with the relationship?
  • Are there some things that you and I are NOT prepared to give up in the marriage?
  • Do each of us feel fully confident in the other’s commitment to the marriage and believe that the bond can survive whatever challenges we may face?
