My Playroom for kids
If I have to go shopping for myself or go to the grocery even, I try to leave the kids at home. I did not fancy the challenge of maneuvering the stroller along the narrow aisles or up the escalator or getting squished inside the elevator. Going to the mall with young kids is like going through a Survivor challenge or Fear Factor. Hehe.
That was before I discovered My Playroom. It is a place where you can leave your kids (with a guardian of course) for an hour or more while you shop. All you have to bring is a good pair of socks for your kids and your yaya or whoever it is will be staying there with your child.
They charge P170 for an hour but they have rates for a no time limit stay or even a minimum of 30 minutes. The place is clean with lots of toys and books, and even video games. The place is not crowded and you can watch your kids play inside the glass walls. I took some pictures of my kid as he stepped inside. I think he forgot about me the second he entered the playroom.
There is a branch in SM Megamall too so those in that area can enjoy the service there as well. Whoever thought of this place is a genius (well for me that is)!

wow, great to know this. most of the big malls here have indoor playgrounds, too. although most stores and restaurants here (big or small) always have a play corner, very much to my taste but not to may hubby’s, he would prefer to have the kids tagging along, hehe

Hi raqgold! Most big malls do but some really do not have the facilities that playroom has. One such place I saw did not have the proper ventilation and was not airconditioned. Imagine how suffocating it was for the kids!

I’ve seen this particular playspace (I used to work next door) though not taken the kids to it.
Keng/aka Raqgold, ApplesH is right. Almost all SMs will have something similar. Shang at EDSA also. Just FYI kasi I know you are coming over to visit soon.
ApplesH: I’ve tagged you. Thanks!

I appreciate malls that have nice play stations where you can safely leave your child.

Rach - Yep I agree. I am very thankful too. It makes it possible to do errands without leaving your kids at home.

Wow, I wish they have this in EVERY mall! This looks like a great place!
Btw, I like your blog. Mind if we exchange links?

Eileen - I wish the same thing too. Sure I’d be glad to exchange.

HI,
I was researching on kids drop in centers that services parents in malls. I have used their services ones but am not sure if it was MY Playroom or not. Anyway-I would like to know if you have their contact information like a website or an email address so I can contact their founder. Please do mail me if you have any info about this. Thank you.

sheela - sorry for such a delayed reply but I tried to find the receipt that I had for My Playroom but could no longer find it. Next time I pass by there, I will get their contact number.
