I didnt have much sleep last night…
Iggy woke up crying. He kept screaming “ang sakit! ang sakit!”. I suddenly sat upright and hugged him….my hands feeling his small little body, his head, his shoulders, trying to see what was hurting him. He kept on crying, kicking me…my hands, my face. Then I saw his eyes were closed so I was thinking - was he having a nightmare? But his tears and screams sounded very very real. I told yaya to dress up and fix Iggy’s things and that we were going to the hospital. I started to wake Iggy.
Then he opened his eyes and for a moment his crying and screaming ceased. I asked him what was painful. He said - “eto oh yung ilong ko”. Then it dawned on me - my son couldnt breathe. It was because he had colds and the mucus was keeping him from getting his much needed oxygen.
So I had to remove the mucus so he could breathe easily again. Whew!
My heart stopped for like 5 mins there. At least my kid is ok now.
I told Daddy what happened just a while ago. If I had called him while Iggy was crying he would have been so worried.
Dont worry daddy, Iggy’s fine now.
We miss you. Hurry home!
